#InTheHotSeat Princess India from His Inherited Princess by @EmpiBaryeh #RHOSaene #Romance #Africa

We are excited to have another princess on the blog. Please give a warm welcome to Her Highness, Princess India Saene from His Inherited Princess by Empi Baryeh. We can't wait to find out more about her. Check out the interview.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT?

Recognising and answering to my true calling. You see, I have a secret life. Or more correctly, a secret cause. I’m an advocate for women and children’s rights across the continent, but there’s more to that cause than meets the eye.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS?

Oh, that’s easy. A bar of melt-in-your-mouth chocolate. As you’ll get to know, I have a weakness for chocolate, and it got me in some very sensual trouble...

WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT STATE OF MIND?

Anger, Confusion, Passion, Exhilaration…take your pick.

I woke up to discover I’ve been inherited by my deceased husband’s brother, Omar! I should be furious, but each time my new husband looks into my eyes, I forget why I’m angry at him. When I agreed to the marriage alliance, I signed up for duty, not passion.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION?

I have a lot of material possessions, but what I treasure the most is my word. When I give my word, I don’t break it; even when it hurts.

WHAT OR WHO IS THE GREATEST LOVE OF YOUR LIFE?

Sadly, I haven’t had a great love story. A marriage alliance has always been in the cards for me, so it hardly seemed right to risk falling in love. Besides, my work with the Children’s Foundation keeps me busy.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MARKED CHARACTERISTIC?

I’m the most level-headed among the Saene sisters; maybe a little headstrong, but I’m worth the trouble of getting to know me.

WHEN AND WHERE WERE YOU THE HAPPIEST?

I’ve always been a hopeful and happy person. I see the silver lining in situations. But I’m happiest when I’m eating chocolate. (*winks*)

WHAT IS IT THAT YOU MOST DISLIKE?

Discrimination. Like my father taught me and my siblings, everyone has a station in life, but no one is more human than another.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR?

(*blows out a shaky breath*) That I’d fall in love with Omar when our marriage is nothing but a state contract.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE?

I love fashion and I like to experiment with colour and new trends. I make it a point to wear an up-and-coming designer for the annual Children’s Foundation New Year’s gala. It’s my way of helping to unearth new talents, so my extravagance does have a silver lining.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST REGRET?

Life has taken me on a rollercoaster ride lately, but I have no regrets so far. (*fingers crossed*)

WHAT IS THE QUALITY YOU MOST LIKE IN A PARTNER?

Loyalty and honesty. Undivided love.

WHAT IS THE TRAIT YOU MOST DEPLORE IN YOURSELF?

Deplore is a strong word. I can’t say I deplore anything about myself. However, I may be too trusting. Why else would I have stayed in Sudar with a man who’s accused me of treason?

WHAT IS THE TRAIT YOU MOST DEPLORE IN OTHERS?

Insincerity. Never pretend to be who you’re not.

WHAT DO YOU MOST VALUE IN YOUR FRIENDS?

Loyalty. There’s nothing more valuable to me than knowing someone would stick with me through thick and thin.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE HERO/HEROINE, FICTIONAL OR REAL?

I have respect and admiration for anyone who has taken a stand for something they believe in.

ON WHAT OCCASIONS DO YOU LIE?

I’d only lie for a good cause, like protecting someone I love.

WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE WORD OR PHRASE?

I don’t think I have one, but my sister’s, Isha and Amira, might be the best people to ask.

WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE WORD OR PHRASE?

Anything alluding to “a woman’s position” in a negative way grates on my nerves.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

At the risk of sounding vain, I’d change nothing.
