Excerpt:

Eager to get back to the office, Femi swept his eyes around the car park looking for Felicity. His gaze halted when he spotted Justice Haruna leaving the courthouse. Dressed in a white-and-black striped dress, the garment’s lines draped enticingly over her slender frame.

A vision of his hands mimicking the dress and caressing those gentle curves assailed him. Femi’s heart lurched in his chest at the strangely familiar image, farfetched as it was.

Standing stock still, his eyes trailed her as she confidently strutted towards what must be her official vehicle, a dilapidated Peugeot 308—typical of government cars to be so poorly maintained, especially autos for lesser-ranking officials.

She was beautiful. Tall and slim with just enough curves to make his mouth water. Her smooth, brown skin gleamed in the sunlight’s reflection, reminding him of a tempting mug of hot chocolate. On the cold and rainy nights that Abuja was known for, Femi often indulged in the drink, savouring its frothy decadence. He’d gladly trade his usual for a sip or two of her though.

He watched as she halted mid-stride, swung her bag forward, reached in, and rummaged around until she plucked out a mobile phone. She anchored it against her ear, a bright smile splitting her face.

His throat suddenly went dry at the sight. What a gorgeous mouth, full and pouty with a captivating set of white teeth. Something about that smile called out to him, and he felt his own lips part into an unexpected smile. Justice Haruna was nothing short of enchanting. Distracting.

And again ... familiar.
